For overseas brands to create exclusive and differentiated glass bottle packaging, the core step is mold opening and sample making. The cost of the mold and the sample cycle directly affect the progress of new product development and the initial investment cost. The cost range of a regular glass bottle mold is 1,500 to 2,600 yuan per set. For high-precision, irregular curved surfaces, and embossed logo bottle shapes, spray-welded precision molds are required, with the cost nearly doubling. The debugging of irregular-shaped bottles is extremely difficult. Multiple failed samples will continuously deplete the production capacity of kilns and labor, which is the main cost loss point for manufacturers and also a core clause that foreign trade purchasers need to communicate and confirm in advance.
The complete sample-making process is divided into six major stages: Firstly, the client provides the physical bottle shape and 2D/3D drawings. The design team completes the structural optimization and effect drawing within 2 to 3 days, and the client confirms the plan within 1 to 2 days. Secondly, for CNC processing molds, the production cycle of conventional multi-cavity molds is about 10 days, while that of simple sample molds can be shortened to 6 days. After the mold is completed, it takes 5 days to assemble, debug and match the forming equipment. The entire standard process, including trial production on the machine, full manual inspection after annealing and cooling, repeated mold repair and secondary sample making based on defects, takes approximately 20 to 30 days. Many overseas customers request expedited sample production within 15 days. The factory is forced to conduct cross-equipment trial production. The parameters of the molds and production lines do not match, which easily leads to irreversible quality problems such as uneven wall thickness, wrinkles, and cold spots. After batch shipment, it is very likely to trigger cross-border customer complaints.
Our factory distinguishes between standard version molds and precision spray welding molds for foreign trade orders. When signing the contract, the number of free mold repair times is clearly stipulated. If the number exceeds the limit, only a small processing fee will be charged. At the same time, we offer 3D printing rapid prototype services, delivering appearance samples within 72 hours. After the customer confirms the shape, the metal mold processing will be initiated, significantly reducing the cost of mold modification. Standard bottles in stock do not require mold opening. Finished samples can be sent out within 5 days, suitable for quick trial orders of small and medium-sized brands. All samples are accompanied by size inspection reports and sealing test data, and can be sent to ports in Europe, America and Southeast Asia. This helps overseas purchasers accurately control the packaging development rhythm and avoid product distribution delays due to sample production delays.
